Workshop Supplies:

  • 2 Round Brush (large and small). Large could be 8-14 size. Small could be 2-6

  • 1 Flat brush (quarter or half inch)

  • 1 Rigger brush

  • Color Palette or plate

  • Water container

  • Sponge, Paper Towel or cotton cloth

  • Painting colors: Preferably Tubes. I like Winsor Newton & Daniel Smith colors however I experiment with other brands as well. Stay away from very cheap ones as it will frustrate you and your love for watercolor may slowly vanish.

    • Yellow - Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Deep Yellow

    • Blue - French Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue

    • Red - Alizarin Crimson, Indian Red, Cadmium Red

    • Earth Colors - Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna

  • Watercolor Paper

    • I prefer Fabiano or Arches brand

Students often spend a lot of time on what materials to use. My advice would be to buy decent supplies in the beginning and have a sketchbook, sketch daily even if 15 minutes if you could do and paint at least 2-3 times a week. You will be amazed to see the progress.
